To exist as a loving being that is dedicated to the decolonization and self-preservation/self-affirmation/self-actualization of those that live at the intersections of oppression.
Black Girls Sustaining Magic is a two-part compassion-in-action project which hopes to foster both eco-literacy and self-affirmation/self-love in the young girls of the West End community. One part of the project is a garden initiative to combat food insecurity by encouraging the girls to connect with the earth in a sustaining way in learning how to cultivate their own fruits and vegetables. The second part of the project is an arts initiative to promote healing and self-discovery, in which the girls will participate in weekly poetry workshops to work towards publishing a poetry book at the end of the project year.
