My vision for leadership is to create an ecosystem of care, where we act collectively, resist creatively and access play, learning and free expression as a right and not a privilege.
Project Description
Started as an anchor to Govandi Arts Festival, Ek Aasmaan Tale, (translates to Under One Sky), is a community-led initiative that reclaims unused or dilapidated spaces in dense marginalized neighborhoods of Mumbai and reimagines them into community centers for learning, creativity, and wellbeing. We create safe and creative environments for children and youth who are most impacted by the urban inequities, social and spatial marginalization, but have been systematically denied agency in shaping it. With the hope that these opportunities must be embedded in public systems as a non-negotiable foundation for equitable, inclusive, and care-led urban development.
