Project Description
The project includes the making of a mobile library to lead oral storytelling, reading and writing workshops for young mothers living in the 9 de Julio slum, in Córdoba, Argentina. The name of the project, ContArte, means ‘to tell yourself’, which points to the main goal of these activities: to build a sense of self-esteem and female empowerment through the strengthening of language, speech, song and other sensorial activities, to promote communication between mother and child, and to address topics such as hygiene, personal care and sexual education.
