True leadership is a paradox: to lead is to serve, to guide is to listen, and to empower is to let go. A leader is not concerned with being in control but rather makes the stage accessible for other people to step into their own power. Leadership is not a title or a profession but an ever-evolving relationship between the ones who seek change and the ones courageous enough to believe in it.
Southeast Asia is one of the regions in the world with the highest number of animals raised in intensive animal agriculture. However, efforts to improve farmed animal welfare remain limited due to a lack of awareness, advocacy skills, and institutional support. The Southeast Asia Farmed Animal Welfare Fellowship (SEAFAWF) is a capacity-building programme designed to address these challenges by equipping passionate individuals who live in Southeast Asia with the knowledge, skills, and connections needed to drive change. Through expert-led sessions, strategic advocacy tools, and access to career opportunities, SEAFAWF empowers participants to strengthen their advocacy efforts and explore professional paths in farmed animal welfare.
