As a systemic development practitioner, my vision is to catalyse action and conversation on sufficiency based, kindness oriented, compassion driven, reflective and healthier systems which enable human beings to sustainably thrive on Earth and its planetary environments.
Hype Sri Lanka, as South Asia's only Youth Empowerment Incubator, serves as a catalyst for inclusive and youth-led sustainability. To achieve this mission, the Incubator pilots 'Youth Empowerment Incubation' (YEI) as an alternative systemic youth development approach, in the national youth development ecosystem of Sri Lanka. YEI counters the over-reliance on the ‘Bottom-to-Top Model’ of youth development, by facilitating the parallel participation of primary (stakeholders of the youth development ecosystem) and secondary (individual youth) impact audiences, in Top Level Youth Development Processes (TLYDPs) and Community Level Youth Development Processes (CLYDPs). To achieve this intended macro level impact through YEI, Hype Sri Lanka carries out two main types of projects, namely, Recurring Projects (RPs) and Single Impact Cycle Projects (SICPs). Three notable examples of RPs are The Hype Policy Tank, Project Nexus and The Hype Academy for Human Capital Development.
